Bulletin methodology & publication gates
Every figure on a HaulProfit data bulletin passes a server-side publication gate before it can appear publicly. The gates are code, not policy — data that fails them cannot be serialized.
Publication gates
Minimum sample: every published cell aggregates at least 5 distinct fleets. Smaller cells are suppressed.
Geography: corridor level only (region → region). Never city-, zip-, or lane-exact figures.
Rounding: published figures are coarser than in-app ones — rates to the nearest $0.05/mile, dollars to the nearest $5, sample counts floored to the nearest 5.
Publication lag: nothing publishes until the newest underlying observation is at least 14 days old.
Provenance allow-list: only confirmed taken loads and offered-load asks may feed a bulletin. Passive board sightings are rejected with a hard failure at any scale.
No per-board breakdowns: bulletins never attribute figures to any load board.
No load-level rows: bulletins publish aggregates only, never individual loads or reports.
Where the data comes from
Paid series: confirmed “I took this load” contributions from carriers, shared with explicit consent. This is the only tier eligible for cross-user rate aggregates.
Asked series: loads users actively brought into HaulProfit (spreadsheet, email, SMS, photo). Published in aggregate only, always labeled as asking prices, never mixed into the paid series.
Passive board sightings — loads a user merely viewed — are never published, at any scale, in any aggregate. The publication gate hard-fails if they ever reach it.
Fuel-surcharge gap report
Standard-schedule FSC = (DOE diesel price − $1.20 base) ÷ 6.0 peg MPG, per loaded mile — the industry-standard schedule used across the market.
Repricing-lag gap = (this week's price − last week's price) ÷ 6.0 × 1,000 loaded miles. Positive weeks are absorbed by the driver, because schedules pay last week's price while the truck buys at this week's.
Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration weekly on-highway diesel price, national (U.S. average) series. No user data is used in this report.
Broker payment distributions
Days-to-pay figures are published as bucketed distributions with methodology only. We do not publish verdicts, scores, ratings, or recommendations about any broker.
Only evidence-verified reports feed the distribution — the submitting carrier must have a scored load with the broker — with per-reporter caps, and the section publishes only after anti-manipulation defenses are active.
Brokers who believe a published distribution misrepresents them can dispute it by contacting support; reports found to be fraudulent or unverifiable are removed from the aggregates.
